Life has a way of passing us by far too quickly. In recognition of
Labor Day, let’s take a moment to slow down and do something that’s not only good
for our bodies, but also for our hearts.
As we all know, there are good ways and bad ways to deal
with stress. Sometimes in the midst of the chaos we forget how take a deep
breath and calmly move forward. We know that exercise is one of the best
things we can do for our bodies and minds, but what if your time is limited? Some
days we only get a few extra moments.
A lot of us work in offices where we will primarily stay
seated at our computers during day. Standing, stretching and walking throughout
the day will do wonderful things for your mind. Asking a coworker to take a
walk with you (or go alone!) after lunch can be a great way to settle your meal,
clear your head, connect with another person and hopefully see some nature.
Let’s challenge ourselves to walk away from our phones and other
distractions at least once a day. Pay attention to the nature, wildlife and the
serenity that can accompany us during this time. Make it a tradition to walk
with your spouse, children or friends after dinner. Or make it a personal
ritual.

If we take good care of ourselves, the dedication and care
we provide for our loved ones with be so much stronger.
Happy Labor Day to everyone!
