Dishes that are Dear to the Heart
Hello Rosanna,
I enjoyed reading your biography on your web site and share your passion for Bella Italia.
A few years ago, my wife purchased a coffee mug for me that was made by / for your company. The mug has the image of a post card addressed to Signore Ugo Riso in "Roma." The postmark, "23 7 35 Pesaro" is from a small village in north central Italy on the Adriatic sea named Pesaro. My family has its roots in Pesaro so this imparts a sentimental value to the mug. The mug has a capacity of about 18 ounces.
This mug was damaged during our recent move back to the United States from Portugal. I am in the Navy on active duty and was stationed is Lisbon.
I checked your web site and did not see any items resembling this mug. Is it possible that you may have any of these mugs in your warehouse? I would be interested in purchasing a quantity of these mugs.
Thank you for your assistance.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Unfortunately, the collection in question is no longer in production. However, we scoured our warehouse and were able to find some of the mugs this man asked about.
Stories like these confirm that Rosanna dishes do make a difference in people's lives. The heart and soul we try so hard to communicate with our design does come through. It's wonderful to have our product featured in fashion magazines, but it is responses like the one above that prove we're living up to our mission statement and vision for Rosanna dishes- to create traditions and becoming an integral part of peoples' lives.

Have a Happy, Happy Birthday
New birth as rebirth are the hallmarks of springtime. What better moment than now to introduce our new birthday dinnerware! When I was a little girl, my mother made our birthdays memorable by setting a special table with what we came to call "the birthday dishes." She got out her fine linen, and always used fresh cut flowers as a centerpiece. The care and love my mother put into her children's birthdays inspired me to design dishes expressly for these once-a-year festivities. These dishes, festooned with fantastical cakes aglow with candles, are meant to make the association between happiness and birthday celebration into a family tradition.
When setting a birthday table, I like to use fresh, light colors and a variety of different shapes. I also like to layer patterned dinnerware with basic, single-colored pieces. Placing the cake on a pedestal is also a wonderful way to make a statement that says "Ta Da! Today's your birthday!"
For inspiration, here is a birthday table setting I created using Rosanna product:
Besides our Happy Birthday dishes, here is a list of some other items I used in this shot:
Sweet Dreams ice cream bowls
Dauphine white candlesticks
Dinner Party ice blue plates
White cake pedestals
Napoleon Pearl Pink Flatware (also look at pearlized aqua, ivory, and white)

-When you set the table for a birthday, use the same dishes each year to make the day more of an occasion.
-Create a feeling of familiarity by integrating family heirloom pieces or antiques with newer acquisitions
-Draw inspiration from the season in which the birthday falls- warm colors for autumn, rich hues for winter, light tones for spring, and a vibrant palette for summer.

Rosanna's Winter Warehouse Sale
It's that time of year again, so mark your calendars, for Rosanna's Winter Sale on December 1st.
We're closing out some of our most fabulous and collectible Rosanna pieces to date. Since the holidays are right around the corner, this is the best time to do all of your shopping for your friends, co-workers, parents, sisters, teachers, and hostesses. There are steals and deals to be had.
With all of our best selling collections reduced to wholesale prices, hand made Deruta ceramics discounted (less expensive than a flight to Italy to pick some out), and plenty of gorgeous antique European furniture to bid on- this is an event not to be missed!
Important information to note:
WHEN: December 1st from 8:30 am to 6 pm.
WHERE: Rosanna Inc. Warehouse
440 S. Holgate St.
Seattle, WA 98134
DETAILS: This is a cash and carry event. Credit cards will be accepted for purchases of $50 or more.
As I've mentioned before, it's best if you arrive early because it can get a little crazy and merchandise tends to disappear very quickly. If there's anything that you've had your eye on- whether it is online or from the last sale, this is a great time to get it.
Good luck!

Thank You, Gracias, Merci, Danke and Grazie Mille!
I wanted to thank everyone who came out to our Warehouse Sale this past Friday and Saturday and made it a huge success!
This was our most successful Warehouse Sale yet and I have a few people to thank for it.
I would like to thank Jen O'Brien and Matt Paul here at Rosanna for pulling the entire sale together and working so hard on it; they made a great team. I want to say a repeat thank you to Kathy Schultz for her wonderful article. Thank you to Pamela Sitt from the Seattle Times for her Psst! article and Nicole Tsong from the Seattle Times for her continued support. Thank you to Kat Spellman and Margo Spellman of the Spellman Company for their help in getting the word out. And of course- a huge thank you to those who trekked down to the Sodo district and cleaned us out!
Here are some memorable photos from the sale:
The lines went on like this all day . . .
The early morning rush:
And our gorgeous Deruta that was on sale. For those of you who collect Deruta, you know that it is rare for it to go on sale.
Thank you again for coming down! It was a pleasure to see some familiar faces. I had a great time. I hope you did, too!

Thank You, Kathy Schultz!

Kathy Schultz, the brilliant writer over at NW Source has done all of us at Rosanna Inc. a great favor by writing in her blog about our upcoming Warehouse Sale that's taking place this Friday.
In her article, titled "Fishing for Dishes," she gives great detail about the finds at our sale. As I previously in an earlier post, there will be antiques, vintage finds, and, of course, Rosanna products at wholesale prices. You can see the whole article here.
Thank you to Kathy for a fabulous and well written article, and for supporting Rosanna with such enthusiasm.
Sincerely,
